Chronology
When he drives a car while drunk, Mark loses his driver’s license and has to pass the MPA. During the course, he meets Helena and tries to get sober together with her, but temptations lurk everywhere. After Mark’s first failed attempt to get sober, Helen mentioned that he only lasted 27 days [00:41:50].
So, as always, no puns here
After that [00:42:35] in Mark’s apartment, the attached calendar pages showed that he was only successful for 25 days. As with most, if not all, addictions, those who suffer from it cannot see it. And the movie kind of gives that understanding right from the start.
Lau is a great actor, he really does his best
They even talk and tell our main character what he’s probably thinking. It was not imprinted on him – at least not to the extent that it would help him or make him change anything. The story is predictable, but you stay because you’re fascinated by the game – including the other actors (Chirner, to name just one).
Best watched sober
