Chronology
During the Romanian Revolution of 1989, Sibiu witnesses a violent attack on a police station that escalates into armed clashes between soldiers, police, protesters and the secret police. References Rocky (1976). I just had the privilege of seeing this tonight, at a preview screening before the actual release, and I can say that I was very happy and relieved to see these stories told so well, and yet it is not a documentary, despite the mountains of research and effort that went into recreating some of the aspects depicted. Probably the best and most mature non-meta Romanian film. Go out and support it by seeing it in theaters from October 6th – it’s well worth it and deserves to be seen if you’re even remotely interested in Romanian films, stories inspired by history – or, indeed, great films in general!
