Follow the eponymous superhero as he reconciles his heritage with his upbringing as a human. He is the embodiment of truth, justice, and the American way in a world that sees it as old-fashioned. James Gunn tweeted that his father’s death influenced the script. The film’s release date, July 11, 2025, was his father’s birthday. When James Gunn originally prepared the first draft of the script, he called the film Superman: Legacy. By the time he read the final draft, it was clear to him that the title was SUPERMAN.
