Chronology
In the Norwegian wilderness, a family seeks a wild free existence, but a tragic turn of events shatters their isolation and forces them to adapt to the demands of contemporary society. A very interesting and emotional documentary about a Norwegian family living in the wilderness with great emotional interviews and conversations with the main participants and a gentle and tender observation of a family dealing with grief, life in the wilderness and growing up in the social world.
I honestly felt emotionally and connected to the family
Filmmaker Silje Evensmo Jacobsen does a really good job of documenting the family’s journey, as Jacobsen’s direction and approach to the subject was sweet and tender to observe. I can’t imagine how hard it is to leave a home because of a tragedy.
The film also has some gorgeous looking camerawork and shows just how beautiful Norway really is
Each child was so sweet and adorable to watch and I honestly felt bad for the whole family. Even though the pacing could have been improved, I found myself really enjoying and relating to this documentary.
It’s like Captain Fantastic, but more powerful
One of my favorite documentaries about the festival.
